▶ May 30, 2001, Opening Ceremony.

▶ May 12, 2001, it was decided on to support the SiTEC as one of the plans to construct the bases for industrial technologies. Wonkwang University was decided on as the host after public advertisements.

▶ February 15, 2001, the Korea Speech Information Technology Industry Association(KOSITIA) was founded as a window to obtain opinions from the industries.

 The SiTEC was founded at Wonkwang University in May 2001 with the aid of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy as a comprehensive project to build the infrastructure for promoting the speech information technology and supporting the industry.

 The government-aided project will continue until February 2006 and thereafter the Center will continue to develop its own projects.
